Since the devaluation of the local currency in 2008, the hryvnia has lost approximately 40% of it’s value against the dollar and the euro making tourism in Ukraine very reasonably priced. 7. Q: Is Ukraine in a dangerous part of the world? A: On the contrary, Ukraine is probably one of the safest countries in the world for travel. The crime rate is extremely low and part of the culture of Ukraine is to respect people which contributes to it being such a safe country. 8. Q: Does the Photo Tour price include transportation? A: No, the Photo Tour price does not include travel to Ukraine, but it does include all transportation within Ukraine, rooms, food, entry tickets to facilities and of course, all photography instruction. You must bring whatever photography equipment you choose to work with, including memory cards, as none will be provided. 9. A: You can bring your laptop if you want so that you can save your images onto a back up drive in addition to storing them on your memory cards. There is WiFi available in some places in the major cities and there is a wireless modem that can be used if necessary throughout most of the cities in Ukraine. 11. Q: Will we be able to call outside of Ukraine if absolutely necessary? A: Yes, we will always have a mobile phone that will be able to call to any other country if necessary. The group meals will be enjoyed at pre-selected restaurants previously established for their good food and service. 13. Q: Is the water safe to drink? A: Even though the water in some rural regions is much safer than most of the city water in America because it comes from wells and the city water in the cities in Ukraine is inspected and deemed safe, we recommend specific brands of bottled water of which we know the natural mountain or spring fed source. 14. Q: Will we have opportunities to do some exploring and photography on our own? A: Yes, one of the goals of the Photo Tours is to mix the supervised learning sessions with an opportunity for you to do some exploring and create images on your own without an instructor. We feel this will give you a chance to apply the instruction we’ve given you in a different environment. You’ll find that we have created an itinerary that gives a very nice balance between those aspects of the Photo Tours. |
